General information on the study programme:	The study programme Philosophy in Split is a double-major programme that has been offered since 2005. The study programme is compatible with study programmes offered at other accredited philosophy programmes at Croatian universities, and is also aligned with philosophy study programmes offered at universities within the European Union. The teaching staff at the Department continuously monitor other philosophy study programmes worldwide and adapt the programme accordingly. Students have the opportunity to study partially abroad, mostly through the Erasmus+ programme, and a large number of philosophy students have undertaken semester or year-long study stays at other universities in the European Union. The aim of the study programme Philosophy is to acquaint students with the historical development of philosophy as the origin of all sciences and to equip them with critical thinking and analysis of philosophical problems through the study of significant sources. The programme incorporates the achievements of a rich philosophical heritage, intertwined with the latest global achievements in philosophical research. The undergraduate study programme Philosophy lasts 3 years or 6 semesters, and the completion of the study requires a minimum of 90 ECTS credits, with a total of 180 credits across both study programmes. Philosophy students, in addition to compulsory courses covering fundamental philosophical disciplines and elective courses in philosophy, may also choose from a range of elective courses from other study programmes at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split, as well as from other constituents of the University.	The graduate study programme Philosophy may be enrolled in and attended by students who have completed one of the accredited double-major undergraduate study programmes in philosophy at one of the higher education institutions in Croatia. The graduate study programme Philosophy lasts 2 years or 4 semesters, and the completion of the study requires a minimum of 60 ECTS credits, with a total of 120 credits across both study programmes. Students who complete the study acquire the academic title of Master of Education (MEdu) in Philosophy (double-major specializing in teacher education, univ. mag.educ.phil.) and, in addition to professional competences, also acquire teaching competences for teaching the subjects of philosophy, logic, and ethics. Students may also continue studying philosophy at the postgraduate level at one of the higher education institutions in Croatia or abroad.

Application and Enrolment Requirements:	Detailed information about admission to the study programme is available at the following links: Postani student FFST - upisi	To enrol in the graduate study programme Philosophy, applicants must have completed an accredited university double-major undergraduate study programme in philosophy with a minimum of 180 ECTS credits in combination with another double-major undergraduate study programme. The university graduate study programme Philosophy may be combined with all double-major study programmes at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split. The requirements for enrolment in higher years of study are defined by a decision of the Faculty Council, adopted for each academic year, and published on the Faculty's website. Special requirements for enrolment in individual courses are specified in the syllabi of those courses. The programme lasts 2 years (4 semesters). Upon completion of the university graduate study programme Philosophy, a minimum of 60 ECTS credits is acquired out of a total minimum of 120 ECTS credits of the graduate study programme.
Further study opportunities:	Students who complete the undergraduate study acquire the academic title of Bachelor (baccalaureus)/(baccalaurea) of Arts (BA) in Philosophy and may continue their studies at a higher level at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split or at another university in Croatia.
