Description:
The course analyses history, culture, politics and the social structure of the United States from its early days and independence through the development of the national government and the conquest of the West up to the present day. The task of the course is to familiarize the students with the basic values in American society as well as with its development and changes which were conditioned by various historical and political circumstances.

Learning outcomes:
  1. Upon the completion of the course students will be able to:
    Demonstrate the knowledge of major political and cultural events in the USA.
  2. To explain basic facts, theories and principles of the mentioned fields.
