Description:
Introducing with the major concepts of the body as social phenomenon with the aim of understanding social process and their influence for the sociological understanding of the body and embodiment in contemporary society.
Learning outcomes:
  1. define and analyse key concepts of the body/embodiment
  2. articulate body and body experience form the sociological perspective;
  3. notice influence of the social, cultural and political processes for defining body and body experience
  4. critically analyse age, gender, sexual and political implications for defining body and body experience
  5. research conceptualisation of the body and embodiment in contemporary society
