Description:
The characteristics of the late feudal society in Banska Hrvatska, ie those important protomodernization processes between 1790 and 1835, will be considered first. After that, the National Movement in Banska Hrvatska 1835-1848/49 will be discussed. Also, the components of the content of this course will be dedicated to the Military Frontier from the end of the 18th century to 1848 and until 1881, as well as to Istria and Dalmatia in the first half of the 19th century. Furthermore, the year 1848 in the Croatian countries will be analyzed, as well as the modernization efforts 'from above' and 'from below' in the period of Neo-absolutism. Due attention will be paid to the Austro-Hungarian and Croatian-Hungarian settlements and their consequences. The development of modern civil society in Banska Hrvatska in 'post-negotiation Croatia' will also be considered. Due attention will be paid to the development of the Croatian National Revival in Dalmatia and Istria. This course will also indicate the basic problems of the history of the Croatian people in Bosnia and Herzegovina 1878-1918. Finally, the situation in Banska Hrvatska for the 'Khuen Hedervary era' and also in the period of the crisis of dualism (1895-1906) will find its place here. in Banska Hrvatska, Dalmatia and Istria. Finally, the development of the situation in Croatian countries on the eve of and during the First World War will be discussed.

  1. explain the basic historical processes of the 19th century Croatian history in the context of the Habsburg monarchy

  3. notice the cause-and-effect relationships of political and other, especially modernization processes in the considered period
