Getting to know the basic methodological procedures of historical knowledge, interpretation of the Croatian Middle Ages and define the periodization, as well as the most important events of Croatian medieval history
Understanding historical terminology. Encouraging critical thinking aimed at responsible acceptance of reality (historical and contemporary); evoking tradition and its values in order to enrich and modernize microhistorical and national identity in the European context. Facilitating in understaning of social context of the subject nature and society. Acquisition of a general culture appropriate to higher education.

1. interpretation of key events, processes and personalities of medieval croatian history
2. connecting the microhistorical and general level of history
3. recognizing continuity and change at the level of national and European history
4. identification of causes and consequences as well as their connection within national and European history
5. using analytical interpretive skills based on historical sources
6. developing empathy for the past and the importance of preserving historical heritage
