The aim of the course is to get acquainted with the epochs of German film. In addition to the history and analysis of the film, individual film works will be themed and analysed as examples.

1. After completing the course, the students are able to:
   - critically reflect on the history of German-language cinema and in the context of the socio-historical, political and cultural developments of the 20th century;
   - explain the elements of certain film epochs and to place them in the context of film history in German-speaking countries;
   - competently discuss the characteristics of selected film authors;
   - judge critically the artistic and cinematic value of the selected film works;
