Description:
The main goal of the course is for students to understand main concepts of philosophy of science, science structure and changes in scientific theories and knowledge of the area and the basic concepts of the philosophy of biology, knowledge of the structure of biological theory and the theory of biological evolution, introduction to contemporary texts and the problems of philosophy of biology.
Upon the completion of the course, students will be able to: distinguish philosophical assumptions in scientific theories, know the structure of the theory of evolution, to know the principles of the life science and critical approach to contemporary theories of the life science.

  1. Distinguish philosophical assumptions in scientific theories
  2. Demonstrate knowledge of the structure of the theory of evolution
  3. Understand and explain specific principle in Life sciences
  4. Demonstrate knowledge of the critical approach to contemporary theories of the life science
