About Career Planning and Development Center

The primary objectives of the Career Planning and Development Center are to foster human resource development, with an emphasis on career planning and management skills, connect students with potential employers, and establish a unified database to track graduation, internship, and student employment data.

Center activities

The Centre organises and runs activities that help students develop skills in creating personal professional development plans, active job searching, CV writing, and interview preparation. It also works to empower students to handle job role demands successfully and encourages them to take the initiative in seeking employment or creating new jobs that meet current labour market needs. In addition, the Centre organises various events and carries out research activities.

Career Days Held at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences

Career Days were successfully held at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split from 23 to 27 March 2026, organised by the Career Planning and Development Centre.

The programme opened with a panel discussion titled “Beyond the Scope of the Profession: How We Build a Career (Un)predictably”, moderated by Assistant Professor Mila Bulić. The panellists – Ana Plavša, Katarina Balić, Larisa Hržić, Marin Šarić, Mario Dadić, and Jelena Bikić – shared their experiences of diverse career paths, the importance of adaptability, and the role of acquired competences in professional development. The event attracted such a large audience that extra seating was needed; we thank all the students for their interest and participation.

A special highlight of the programme was the presentation of internship sites, where students had the opportunity to meet the organisations and institutions offering professional internships and opportunities to develop their professional competences. The following organisations took part in the presentation of internship sites:

Department of English Language and Literature: Spektar Association, Maestral Community Service Centre, Europass Adriatic
Department of Italian Language and Literature: Croatian National Theatre Split
Department of Pedagogy: HNK Hajduk Split, Info zona, “Mali cvijetak” Montessori Kindergarten, student internship experiences
Department of Sociology: MI Association, HNK Hajduk Split, MOST Association, Sport 2 Life Association

The week also featured a presentation by the ALFA publishing house and the launch of the “Career-Building Skills” workshop series, aimed at developing key competences such as professional networking, CV writing, project management, and good work habits.

Career Days once again underscored the importance of connecting the academic community with the labour market and provided students with valuable insights into various professional development opportunities. Through their participation in panels, presentations, and workshops, students had the opportunity to actively reflect on their own career paths and acquire practical knowledge that will assist them in future employment.
