In cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Ireland, and under the sponsorship of the Royal Irish Academy, our Faculty is hosting an exhibition by the name of "10 words". This exhibition accompanies the book titled A History of Ireland in 100 Words, by Sharon Arbuthnot, Máira Ní Mhaonaigh and Gregory Toner. The linguistic history of Ireland told through 10 selected words that inspired this exhibition, represents only a small part of the linguistic treasures presented in the book.  The aim of this exhibition is to foster interest in the Irish language, by discovering the connections between the words we use today and the words used in the past, and to encourage visitors to read the book in order to learn something about Ireland's rich and diverse past.
