Internship Information for the Master's Psychology Program
The internship is a key part of the academic program of the Master's degree in Psychology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Split. Through the internship, students have the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world settings, develop professional skills and experience, and prepare for the job market.
The goal of the internship is to provide students with practical experience in various areas of psychology, including clinical, educational, and organizational psychology. Students have the opportunity to work in organizations and institutions involved in psychological work, and mentors in these organizations are able to share their knowledge and experience with future psychologists.
Duration and organization of the internship:
The internship lasts a total of 270 hours, divided into three areas:
o 90 hours in clinical psychology
o 90 hours in educational psychology
o 90 hours in organizational psychology
Students typically select three organizations within each area of focus, spending minimum of 30 hours in each organization.
How to apply for an internship?
Applications for the internship open in early September, at which point students will receive detailed instructions about the application process and required documents. First, students need to complete the Internship Application Form, which must be signed by both their faculty mentor and their mentor from the organization. Once the internship has been approved by both the Faculty and the organization, students independently contact mentors from the organizations and arrange schedules for their internships.
During the internship
Throughout the internship, mentors in the organizations inform students of their responsibilities and duties. Students are required to adhere to the working hours and behavioral rules of the organization, as they represent the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Split, with their work. Mentors will allow students to participate in various psychological processes and activities relevant to their field of focus.
After completing the internship
After completing the internship, students are required to write a Professional Internship Diary, which includes a description of the tasks performed, independently conducted procedures, and a personal reflection on the experience. Students must submit a Professional Internship Diary, signed by the mentor from the organization to the mentor at the Faculty. The report must be completed for each organization in which the student completed the internship.

Additionally, students have the opportunity to establish contacts in the professional community and potentially start their careers in the organizations where they completed their internships.
