Antonela Marić graduated in Italian and English Language and Literature from the University of Zadar. She obtained her Master of Science degree in 2009 after discussing her thesis entitled Critical Construction and Self-Destruction in the Dramatic Opus of Pier Paolo Pasolini. In 2012, she defended her doctoral dissertation entitled The Reception and Repetition of Decadentism in Italian Grotesque Theatre. From 2014 to 2018, she served as the ECTS Coordinator of the Department of Italian Language and Literature. From 2016 to 2018, she held the position of Deputy Head of Department, and in 2017 she assumed the position of Head of the Department of Italian Language and Literature at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Split, for the 2017–2020 term. During the same term, she was appointed Head of the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research Studia Mediterranea at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split. She was appointed Vice-Dean for Teaching for the 2019/2020 academic year and subsequently served as Vice-Dean for Research and International Cooperation in the academic years 2020/2021, 2021/2022 and 2022/2023. She was appointed Head of the Doctoral Programme in the Humanities for a three-year term from 2023 to 2026 and also serves as Coordinator of International Job Shadowing Units. In addition to her regular teaching duties, she participates in the organisation of academic conferences and serves on scientific committees. She is a member of the editorial and scientific boards of the international academic book series Scrittoio and Le Orbite, as well as of an international collection of papers jointly published by the University of Applied Sciences in Nowy Sącz, Poland (Faculty of Social Sciences and Arts), the University of Belgrade (Teacher Education Faculty), and the University of Split (Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences). She is also the editor of the journal Cross-Cultural Studies Review, published by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split. She is the author of numerous academic and professional papers published in Croatian and international publications and arising from national and international academic conferences.
