Lucijana Armanda Šundov (ORCID: 0000-0002-7571-7765), Assoc. Prof., Department of Croatian Language and Literature, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split, Croatia. She graduated in Croatian Language and Literature and English Language and Literature at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split in 2006. From 2008 to 2013, she was an associate in the scientific research project Mediterranean in Renaissance Slavic Literatures, and from 2013 to 2015, she was an associate in the scientific research project Halieutica Adriatica – Philological and Anthropological Research of Adriatic Culture. Since 2026, she has been participating in the scientific research project Mediterranean – Croatia – Identity: Historical and Cultural Interpenetrations. She received her doctorate in 2014 from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb on the topic of Gothic motifs in Croatian literature. She has been involved in university teaching since the academic year 2008/09 until today. During that period, she taught eleven courses at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split and the Catholic Faculty of Theology in Split. She currently teaches the following courses: Romanticism, Realism and the Modern Period in Croatian Literature, 20th Century Croatian Literature, Literature for Youth in Teaching, Children's Literature in Teaching. In 2023, she published a study entitled The Sermons of the Dominican Frane Baldić (1830-1900). She publishes professional and scientific articles in the field of theory and history of Croatian literature, and in particular studies fantasy and children's literature. In her studies of children's and young adult literature, she has dealt with the analysis of Croatian fantasies, picture books, gothic stories, vampire figures in adolescent novels, the theme of otherness and space in Croatian wartime children's novels, and the work of Vjekoslava Huljić. She was elected as a senior research associate on May 29, 2024, by the Main Committee for the field of humanities, philology.
Areas of interest: theory and history of Croatian literature, comparative literary studies, fantasy literature, children's literature and literature for young people.
