Marija Lončar, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Split. She teaches in the undergraduate and graduate sociology programmes, delivering lectures, seminars, and practical classes in methodological courses.
Her research and publication activities focus on sociological methodology, research ethics, sociology of the media, sociology of youth, and sociology of the body. She regularly participates in and presents her work at national and international scientific conferences. She is also actively engaged in the popularisation of science through public forums, media appearances, and lectures.
She has served on several committees and expert bodies at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split and was the ECTS Coordinator at the Department of Sociology. She has participated in the scientific and organising committees of both international and national conferences and served as Chair of the Organising Committee of the Croatian Sociological Congress. She was a member of the Presidency of the Croatian Sociological Association and Head of its Split Branch Office. She currently serves as Executive Editor of the journal Croatian Sociological Review.
