Born in Zagreb in 1981, where he graduated in History and Sociology from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Zagreb in 2005. He was employed at the same institution (Department of History) from 2007 to 2011 and obtained his doctorate there in 2014. In late 2011, he joined the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Split, where he currently teaches courses on Croatian and regional early modern history at the Department of History. His research interests focus on the history of landscapes, Croatian Cyrillic literacy, and the population and surnames of the Eastern Adriatic hinterland during the early modern period. He has published—either as a sole author or co-author—ten monographs and around twenty scientific and professional papers. He co-edited  two collected volumes and was the chair of the organizing committee for two international academic conferences. He regularly presents his work at domestic and international academic conferences. He is a long-standing member and the president of the "Pavao Ritter Vitezović" Croatian Genealogical Society.
