Description:
This course deals with the concept of globalization and the role of literature within globalization processes.
Students will be introduced to the contemporary theoretical and critical thinking on the nature and role of literature, about literary interferences and influences, peculiarities and the destiny of 'small' literatures and about the relationship between literature and economical and political power in the new millennia. The aim of this course is to analyze and question literature as a place of conflict of various interests, a global literary market and its characteristics, and the factors which affect promotion and popularization of books.
