| Description: | |||||||
The lectures consist of various attempts of defining postmodern and postmodernism (as a historical period, philosophical movement, and poetics in different artistic disciplines) in literary critical theory on postmodernism (J.F. Lyotard, M. Foucault, G. Vattimo, F. Jameson, B. McHale, L. Hutcheon, D. Lodge, U. Eco). The subject of analysis are the main aspects of poetics of postmodernism in literature together with their presence in the novels of the last two decades of the 20th century in Italy (intertextuality, autoreferentiality, metatextuality, historiographic metafiction). During the course of the seminar, the novels of following writers are analysed: Italo Calvino, U. Eco, A. Tabucchi, A. Baricco. |
