Democracy and Resilience in Modern Society INFO DAY

The new interdisciplinary graduate study programme was presented to prospective students by the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Gloria Vickov and Vice-dean for science and international cooperation, Antonela Marić in the presence of colleagues, collaborators on the program.

This  self-financed study programme is the result of the cooperation with Sapir Academic College from Israel. It is precisely the cooperation with the state of Israel that represents the added value of this study programme, with the aim of mutual understanding of the national and cultural identities of the two states and their future perspectives, both on an individual level and in a wider social context. The presenters have emphasised the interdisciplinary character of this new curriculum, dealing with Croatian-Israeli cultural-historical and political relations with scientific postulates, the topics that range from national literature, history, religion, law and economics to content related to technical and other scientific disciplines such as the artificial intelligence and cyber security. The teachers on the programme are eminent experts who come not only from Israel and Croatia, but also from other countries of the European continent. Future graduates will acquire competences and knowledge that are universal and specific, which will enable them to work in EU countries and beyond. Graduates can start a professional career in numerous academic and cultural institutions, ministries, state and local institutions, diplomacy, museums, media, law offices or other institutions and companies that need the skills acquired in this programme. The interdisciplinary research practice opens up opportunities for professional activities in various administrative and public bodies, administration in culture, the tourism sector, journalism and publishing, in public relations in the private sector, management in the public sector, in non-governmental associations and other similar organizations. The teachers of the programme presented the content of their courses, whilst professor Ana Marušić from the Faculty of Medicine in Split and associate professor Ori Lev from Sapir College, addressed the attendees via video link.
