The course is conceived as an introduction to scientific research of history, with an introduction to the basic practical applications of information technology in historical science. It is performed in the computer room, in the libraries, archives and museums. Students will receive basic information about searching for a relevant literature and sources, about characteristics of scientific papers and how to create and write scientific and seminar papers with the help of computers (structuring the paper, making scientific notes and bibliography).

1. - explain basic information about domestic and foreign historiographical magazines,
   major domestic and foreign published collections of historical sources, archives and
   archival funds significant for Croatian history, and have knowledge of local libraries
   and museums
2. write a paper with the help of a computer: making scientific notes, composing a bibliography, learn how to write an abstract and structuring the work itself (learn to write using notes, to write a review, an article, a paper)
3. apply IT in historical science
4. create text and process it with a PC using the methodology of historiographical research (drafting tables and charts, introduction to databases, pictorial and audio - visual sources and the Internet in historiography)
