The aim of the course is to gain insights into the entire field of the study of literature: introducing students with basic literary-theoretical concepts and literary phenomena, as well as the principles of writing literary texts and the methodology in studying literature.

1. - to analyze, explain and use basic concepts in literary theory
2. - to establish methods for the study of literature
3. - to define literary genres and sub-genres
4. - define and use metric and versatile patterns and stylistic figures in German
5. - analyze and interpret literary texts
6. - critically evaluate all the dimensions of a literary work
7. - explain the link between literature and other arts with a focus on movies
8. - discuss new media in literary production and reception
