Associate Professor Ivana Odža, PhD, is an associate professor at the Department of Teacher Education of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Split. Her teaching and research interests are focused on children's literature, the methodology of teaching Croatian literature, and oral literature. She graduated from the University of Split in 2006. In 2016, she earned her PhD from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. From 2006 to 2010, she worked as an external associate, teaching seminars in several courses on world and Croatian (children’s) literature at the Department of Teacher Education, the Department of Early and Preschool Education, and the Department of Croatian Language and Literature at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split. At the same time, until 2017, she worked as a primary school teacher of Croatian and Italian language in Drniš, gaining extensive experience in teaching both subjects. Since November 2017, she has been employed at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Split, Department of Teacher Education, initially as an Assistant Professor.She is the co-editor of the edited volume Vinjeta za zavičaj – u spomena na Josipa Pupačića (1971–2021) and the conference proceedings of the International Scientific Conference 14th Primary School Days: From Science to the Classroom. She is also the author of the scholarly monograph Puca niz nidarca, about the Woman of the Dalmatian Hinterland in Oral Literature. Dr. Odža publishes scholarly and professional papers in Croatian and international publications and regularly presents her research at national and international academic and professional conferences.
