- introducing students to basic regularities of translating professional texts into English as a foreign language, with a particular emphasis on the texts dealing with teacher education and instruction and education at an early school age
- developing reading comprehension skills in the area of professional texts in English
- acquisition of the English vocabulary related to primary school education and teacher education
- revision and cyclical expansion of grammatical categories of the English language
- training students for short oral presentations in English on a given professional topic
