Course objectives: Introduction to the basic terminology of social changes.
Course content:
- Introduction - presentation of the program, literature, methods, deadlines,exams (2 hours)
- Basic types of social changes: demographic, family, stratification, education,
religious and others (3 hours)
- Theories of social changes (3 hours)
- Social development and growth. (2 hours)
- Evolution and revolution; progress and regress (2 hours)
- Innovation and modernization (2 hours)
- 1st colloquium (1 hour)
- Transition and Transformation (3 hours)
- Changes in local community and global society; social change and globalization (3 hours)
- Globalization and the doubts it raises (2 hours)
- Globalization and environmental problems (2 hours)
- Recent studies of social changes (2 hours)
- 2nd colloquium (1 hour)
-Final lecture and evaluation. (2 hours)
