The aim of this course is to gain an overview about the culture and civilization of the German-speaking countries (Germany, Austria and Switzerland).

1. - to explain the history of German-speaking countries in the European context
2. - to explain the socio-historical and cultural links between Croatia and the German-speaking countries
3. - compare the most important geographic characteristics of the German-speaking countries
4. - to evaluate the contribution of the most significant persons in the history of the German-speaking countries
5. - to compare the contemporary territorial and political organization, education and economy of Germany, Austria and Switzerland
6. - discuss topics from the field of study
