Biography

Ivana Visković, PhD is an Associate Professor at the Department of Early and Preschool Education, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Her academic and professional work focuses on early and preschool education (ECE), institutional culture and quality, children's participation, educational transitions, family–institution partnerships, and contemporary approaches to inclusive pedagogy.

Prior to her academic career, she gained extensive professional experience in early childhood education as a preschool teacher, pedagogue, and kindergarten director. These experiences have significantly influenced her research interests and her commitment to bridging educational theory and practice. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in the fields of early childhood pedagogy, institutional culture, quality development in educational settings, and inclusive education.

She has authored and co-authored numerous scientific articles, book chapters (Springer, Routledge, BRILL) and professional publications addressing various aspects of ECE. Her research has been presented at national and international conferences. She has participated in several research and development projects related to educational quality, children's rights, participation, and professional development in ECE. She has also contributed to educational policy initiatives and curriculum development processes in Croatia.

Through her scholarly and professional engagement, she actively contributes to advancing the quality and inclusiveness of ECE.

Professional memberships

Current research interests include children’s participation in educational processes, pedagogical dimensions of institutional culture, educational transitions, migration and diversity in early childhood education, and the development of reflective and research-informed educational practice.

She is an active member of OMEP.
