career Days will be held at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split from 12 to 16 October 2026. The event is organised by the Faculty’s Career Planning and Development Centre in cooperation with the Faculty’s partner institutions providing practical training. The programme will bring together students and representatives of employers and partner institutions, offering an opportunity to explore professional placement opportunities and avenues for career development.
This year’s programme will open with a panel discussion entitled “Degree, Knowledge or Personality? What Do Employers Look for in Candidates?”, which will take place on Monday, 12 October, at 10 a.m. in Classroom P8.
During the discussion with employers, participants will explore what makes a good job candidate beyond formal education and which skills and personal qualities can be decisive in the recruitment process. Particular attention will be given to communication and interpersonal skills, initiative, responsibility, adaptability and willingness to learn.
As part of Career Days, the Faculty’s partner institutions where students can undertake practical training will also be introduced. The Department of History will present one of its partner institutions, the Archaeological Museum in Split. This will give students an opportunity to learn about ways to gain practical experience and apply the knowledge acquired during their studies.
Students are invited to take part in the programme and make the most of this opportunity to engage with employers, learn about the Faculty’s partner institutions and plan the first steps in their professional careers.
