The undergraduate double-major study programme in Croatian Language and Literature covers all the fundamental areas of linguistics and literary studies. It enables students to develop existing and acquire new competencies in the Croatian language, literature, and culture.Graduates holding a Bachelor's degree in Croatian Language and Literature can work in cultural and administrative institutions, publishing, the media, tourism, as well as in project-based positions and other occupations requiring knowledge of the Croatian language, literature, and culture.The Croatian Language and Literature study programme at the undergraduate level is comparable to similar Croatian studies programmes in the Republic of Croatia, which enables smooth and unimpeded student mobility to related programmes at other universities in Croatia and abroad. |
The graduate double-major study programme in Croatian Language and Literature is structured around two specialisations, allowing students to choose between the Teacher Education Track and the Cultural Studies Track.After completing the graduate study programme in the Teacher Education Track, graduates are qualified to work as teachers of the Croatian language and literature in primary and secondary schools. Graduates of the Cultural Studies Track are qualified for positions such as editorial work in radio and television, as well as in academic and professional journals and related fields. |

To enrol in the graduate double-major study programme in Croatian Language and Literature, applicants must have completed an accredited undergraduate double-major study programme in Croatian Language and Literature, having earned a minimum of 180 ECTS credits in combination with another undergraduate double-major study programme (i.e., at least 90 ECTS credits in Croatian Language and Literature within a double-major programme).The graduate double-major study programme in Croatian Language and Literature may be combined with any double-major study programme offered by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Split. |
Further study opportunities: |
Upon completion of the undergraduate study programme in Croatian Language and Literature, students may continue their education at the Faculty by enrolling in the graduate study programme in Croatian Language and Literature or in another graduate programme offered by this or other faculties and universities in Croatia and abroad. Depending on the specific requirements of different study programmes, applicants may be required to fulfil additional course or credit requirements, in accordance with the regulations of the relevant university and/or faculty. |
Graduates holding the academic title of Master of Croatian Language and Literature or Master of Education in Croatian Language and Literature are eligible to enrol in the doctoral programme in Humanities offered by the Faculty, within the field of humanities, based on the competencies, knowledge, and skills acquired during their studies. |
