Dr. sc. Brian Willems je redovni profesor na Filozofskom fakultetu u Splitu gdje predaje književnost i na Umjetničkoj akademiji u Splitu gdje predaje teoriju filma, i voditelj centa Studia Mediterranea. Njegove knjige su: Anger and Change in Korean American Literature (Palgrave, 2025.), Sham Ruins: A User's Guide (Routledge, 2022.), Speculative Realism and Science Fiction (Edinburgh University Press, 2017.), Shooting the Moon (Zero Books, 2015.), Facticity, Poverty and Clones (Atropos Press, 2010.), Hopkins and Heidegger (Continuum, 2009.) i roman The Surviving Cells (Les Fugitives, 2026.) i novela Henry, Henry (Zero Books, 2017.). Su-urednik je knjige Global Manifestos for the 21st Century (ur. Nicol Barria-Asenjo, Slavoj Žižek, i Brian Willems, Routledge, 2022.) i Reconsidering (Post-)Yugoslav Time (ur. Aleksandar Mijatović i Brian Willems, Brill, 2021.), i drugi. Njegovi eseji su objavljeni u: Textual Practice, Science Fiction Studies, Film-Philosophy, Umjetnost riječi, Science Fiction Film and Television, Los Angeles Review of Books, The African American Novel in the Early 21st Century (Brill, 2025.), Economic Science Fictions (Goldsmiths Press, 2017.), After the Human (Cambridge University Press, 2020.), From A to <A> (University of Minnesota Press, 2010.), i drugi. Radio je kao gostujući profesor u SADu, Bliskom istoku, sjevernoj Africi, Velikoj Britanji i kontintentalnoj Europi. Radio je kao kurator na multimedijalnim izložbama u Hrvatskoj i Sloveniji.
