Jospa Korljan Bešlić graduated at the University of Zadar in 2005 and earned her PhD from the University of Zagreb in 2015. She worked as a Croatian language teacher in primary and secondary schools before joining the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Split, in 2007. She initially worked as an external associate and later as a language instructor and senior language instructor.
At the Department of Croatian Language and Literature, she has taught a variety of language and literature courses. She currently teaches Croatian Language in Written and Spoken Communication and Teaching Croatian as a Foreign Language. At the Centre for Croatian Studies Abroad at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Split, she teaches Croatian as a foreign language at all proficiency levels, from A1 to C2.
Since 2024, she has served as the Head of the Centre for Croatian Studies Abroad, where Croatian is taught to descendants of Croatian emigrants, exchange students at the University of Split, and foreign nationals living in Split who wish to learn Croatian for professional, academic, or personal reasons.
Together with her colleague Helena Burić, she co-authored Prijeđimo na ti, a textbook for learners of Croatian as a foreign language. She regularly publishes scholarly articles and presents her research at national and international conferences. Her research interests include Croatian as a foreign language, foreign language teaching methodology, and the standard norm of the Croatian language.
